Wax Digital to power £350m purchasing for Durham and Tees NHS Trusts
Wax Digital, one of Europe's leading eProcurement providers for the private sector, has secured its first major UK public sector client with a seven year contract to provide County Durham and Tees NHS Trusts with a full source-to-pay solution. The system will manage circa £350 million in annual expenditure across 7,000 users.
The consortium, which includes 10 Trusts comprising a mixture of NHS Trusts, Foundation Trusts, and Primary Care Trusts, as well as HM Prisons, will deploy a complete source-to-pay solution incorporating electronic tenders and auctions through to contract management, purchasing, stock management and ultimately invoice matching - all on-demand from Wax Digital.
There are over 3,000 active suppliers to the consortium, supplying everything from high technology medical equipment and surgical consumables to non-medical products and services for all Durham and Tees NHS Trusts.
The implementation aims to give the Trusts' professional Procurement Specialists the ability to negotiate and manage key supplier contracts, update electronic product catalogues and match invoices to orders, reducing remaining manual processes and giving clear financial visibility of spend across the organisations.

County Durham and Tees unites 11 Trusts, including Acute Trusts, Mental Health Trust, Primary Care Trusts as well as HM Prisons, and will deploy a complete source-to-pay solution for all NHS Trusts within County Durham and Cleveland.
